Just like vinyl, film cameras have also been making a strong come back into our community, and in keeping up with our love for everything antique, old, and nostalgic, we have got some pretty rare finds at the Satchmi Store. Here’s the lowdown on what’s available and their specs. If you aren’t that familiar with camera mumbo jumbo, no worries. We’ve got overviews for you as well!

FED 2

Product Details:

Overview:
Introduced in 1955 by FED, this 35mm rangefinder camera is a perfect companion for film enthusiasts with a longer rangefinder base (67mm) than the FED 1, a combined viewfinder and rangefinder window, adjustable diopter for the viewing window, a self-timer, and a detachable back for film loading

KIEV 4A

Overview:
Kiev rangefinder cameras were developed after WW II in the Arsenal factory in Kiev, Ukraine hence their solid construction and amazing build. The Kiev 4A is perfect for accurate focusing as it is equipped with a long rangefinder base (9cm).

SMENA 8M

Product details:

  • Produced 1970-1980 LOMO, St. Petersburg
  • Film type 35mm

Overview:
The 8M model is the late 70's to early 80's incarnation of the Smena lineage. With its compact build and lightweight plastic components, the Smena 8M is a remarkable companion for “toy camera” lovers.

Zarya

Product details:

  • Produced 1951-1961 FED, Kharkhov, Ukraine
  • Picture Size 24x36mm
  • Lens Industar-26M 2.8/50
  • Shutter 1/30s, 1/60s, 1/125s, 1/250s, 1/500s + B

Overview:
A restyled and simplified version of the FED 2 (without a rangefinder), Zarya is a 35mm viewfinder camera that has the qualities of a magical, rare, and beautiful camera but with a more economyfriendly price.

Ultimately, each camera has its own features and specs, what matters most is what you are comfortable with. The experience after all is not in the weapon, but the one wielding it.
